SIRE Technologies is an equal opportunity employer. Open Positions PROPOSAL WRITER (Posted 12/15/2009) SIRE is currently looking for a qualified Proposal Writer. The successful candidate will support the proposal efforts through the coordination and writing of high-quality proposals in response to RFP’s issued by the state and local government sector. Writing skills are critical, including the ability to proof read, edit, and rewrite to strongly convey solutions and company message. Qualified candidates will have a proven track record of producing winning proposals, and be proficient in the following areas: - Communicate clearly and persuasively in both written and spoken word
- Assess problem and present solution best suited to the needs described in proposal
- Excellent researching, writing, editing, and proofreading skills a must
- Flawless grammar and excellent vocabulary
- Ability to work effectively with diverse and strong personalities
- Multi-tasking ability
- Attention to details and deadlines
- Independent thinker to work with minimal supervision
- Good understanding of software technology concepts and ability to translate technical information into non-technical language

Experience with Pragmatech RFP Machine and RFP Express is strongly preferred. The Proposal Writer will be required to assess the opportunity and work with our Sales Team to develop and execute a response strategy. This includes identifying the resources required to complete the Request for Proposal. Individual is accountable for all aspects of completing the opportunity, making assignments, and disseminate them to various individuals and departments as needed, track completion of these detail and deadline oriented assignments, and incorporate them into the final document Overall accountability for the creation, editing, review, correct grammar and responsiveness to questions and requirements included within the proposal or sales document. Interface with subject matter experts across many areas and at all levels. Position can be freelance or salaried. Salary/per project fee is negotiable and DOE. TECHNICAL WRITER/TRAINER (Posted 11/13/2009) The Technical Writer/Trainer must fill the following responsibilities: - Manage documentation projects
- Implement writing standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology
- Edit/revise existing software documentation
- Review existing material and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction
- Compose written matter relating to software use and instructions intended for software user
- Index and cross reference documents
- Communicate with subject matter experts to gain product knowledge to be documented
- Create technical whitepapers, online documentation and help systems
- Create training curriculum to be used in "self taught" and classroom style courses.
- Conduct small training classes (usually 2-10 students) based on the product documentation and your knowledge of the products.

- Ability to convert technical product information into non-technical writing
- Ability to write in concise and easy to read manner

Other Information: Employees must adhere to all applicable policies and procedures. This position is full-time, and regular and predictable attendance is required. The ideal candidate must be able to cope effectively with deadlines and multiple demands. Compensation depends on experience. The position exists at our headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah
