SIRE—Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity™

Natural and manmade disasters are a constant threat to any data-based organization. Disaster recovery and business continuity planning for both government and the private sector has been a priority for SIRE.

When a data center has been completely lost, we know that it frequently requires a six month to one year recovery window to completely restore the center along with all of its content and applications allowing normal operations to resume. For some types of data, this is simply not acceptable.

In many cases, a simple tape backup gets the job done. But sensitive and complicated data, such as that archived by government offices, is essential day-to-day information that people need immediately . especially following a disaster. Citizens simply can't wait for a data-center to be rebuilt in months or years. By identifying the data essential to your community, clients, and constituents the day after a disaster, it's easily recognizable that all data is not equal. Certain documents are urgent such as birth certificates, marriage licenses, deeds, trusts and proof of property or ownership.

SIRE offers a configurable synchronous or asynchronous replication to a hotsite, providing “day after” access to the data and continuity of basic, mission-critical functions. A duplicate of your existing system (including hardware) is created at a secure co-locate facility outside of your geographic region. Because the facility is fully operational, provides a myriad of security features, offers Internet access to the outside world, and is being downloaded continuously with data from your local system, it is considered a “hotsite”. This module is configured to replicate your data in either real time (synchronous) or with a slight delay (asynchronous). If a disaster occurs, your clients, constituents, or the public in general can be given permission to access the critical documents they need right now.over the Internet. The result is virtually zero loss of data. It's amazing, really.

Additionally, mission critical electronic functions necessary to provide basic operations (such as a County Recorder providing e-recording for title companies) can still be carried out. Genuine SIRE technology makes sure your critical document systems stay intact and safeguarded every step of the way.
