Thanks to electronic document management, retrieving a scanned document can be accomplished with a few key strokes in a matter of seconds. However, for those required to keep the paper original, finding and retrieving the archived original sometimes proved more difficult. For some, the process included hours of time spent looking through boxes and file cabinets and required weeks or months before the original was found. SIRE WarehouseSync™ eliminates this hassle by making it easy to find and retrieve both electronic documents and their paper original.

Through the use of WarehouseSync and a hand-held barcode scanner, users can quickly identify the box, shelf, and storage facility wherein the original document is stored. When it is time to retrieve the paper original, a quick search in SIRE will tell you exactly where the original is stored making it easy to find and retrieve. When the paper copy is moved, simply scanning the box and the new shelf number automatically updates SIRE EDMS with the new location of the document.

SIRE’s Retention Manager let’s you know when action is needed for both the electronic copy and the paper original. Upon the maturity date, the hard copy of the document can be destroyed if appropriate and the electronic copy can be sent to an archive writer, burned to a CD, or deleted.
